Todd Ferry

Biography. Todd Ferry joined the North Carolina Defense Technology (DEFTECH), a component of the North Carolina Military Business Center (NCMBC), on Jan 10, 2024 and serves as the Program Manager.

He is a 30-year Marine Corps officer who comes to the NCMBC/DEFTECH after serving as the Deputy Commander of Marine Corps Installations East and Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune. Prior to that he was the Commanding Officer of Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point. 

Originally from Houston, Texas, Todd earned his commission upon graduation from the United States Naval Academy in 1992. He has extensive operational and tactical experience as a CH-46E helicopter pilot to include multiple deployments aboard amphibious shipping as part of both the 26th and 31st Marine Expeditionary Units. 

As a naval aviator, he has served in all three active Marine Aircraft Wings including assignments at Marine Corps Air Station New River, Marine Corps Air Station Futenma, and at Marine Corps Air Station Camp Pendleton where he commanded the “Knightriders” of Marine Medium Helicopter Training Squadron 164.  Other military assignments include serving as a Weapons and Systems Engineering Instructor at the United States Naval Academy and as the J5 Director of Staff, US Africa Command (USAFRICOM) in Stuttgart Germany. 

Todd earned a BS in Systems Engineering from the United States Naval Academy, a MS in Applied Physics from the Naval Postgraduate School, and a Masters of National Security Strategy from the U.S. Army War College. 

He has been married to Mrs. Sondra Yvonne Ferry since 1994, they have six children and currently reside in Carteret County.
