  • LIFTOFF: Grant writing assistance with a proven track record of securing non-dilutive funding.
  • DRIVE: Partnering with federal programs to secure funding for businesses focused on health security.
  • TEST FLIGHT: Our monthly pitch practice program.
  • NAVIGATORS: Our experienced team of business leaders, scientists, and entrepreneurs who are available for consultation.
  • WHEELS UP ACCELERATOR PROGRAM: A comprehensive 12-week, cohort-based, sector-focused accelerator for science startups. Working in collaboration with the Biomedical Research and Development Authority (BARDA), the first Wheels UP cohort will accelerate the ability of entrepreneurs to scale disruptive biotechnology and health security solutions.
  • FAST (FEDERAL AND STATE TECHNOLOGY) PARTNERSHIP PROGRAM: FAST seeks to improve competitive grants and wins for non-dilutive funding through the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) Programs for underserved communities by increasing participation from women-owned, rural-based, and socially economically disadvantaged small businesses.

Bio: Krista Covey:
Krista Covey is a seasoned entrepreneur and certified Business Incubator Manager with a strong background in banking and finance. With a passion for fostering high-impact ventures, Krista has successfully led award-winning innovation hubs in Florida and Texas. Her expertise spans business incubation, strategic management, marketing, economic development, and public relations. As the Chair of the InBIA Executive Board of Directors and a member of the Startup Champions Network, Krista is committed to driving long-term change in the entrepreneurial landscape. She holds a B.S. in Business Marketing and an MBA from Southeastern University and Saint Leo University.

Bio: Emil Runge:
Emil Runge, an experienced leader, joined First Flight Venture Center in 2018 to spearhead its Health Security Accelerator. Selected by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Emil focuses on driving innovation in lifesaving medical technologies. In collaboration with BARDA, he facilitates connections within the Health Security Ecosystem and identifies innovative solutions for funding. Emil brings nearly two decades of experience advising officials at various levels and has dedicated the last decade to enhancing Innovation and entrepreneurial Ecosystems. His strategic initiatives contribute to the growth of the region.
