BIOGRAPHY.  Justin Dues joined the North Carolina Military Business Center (NCMBC) Business Development Team in January 2025. Mr. Dues is responsible for Rowan, Cabarrus, Stanly and Anson counties with a focus on identifying lucrative federal opportunities and assisting local businesses with understanding government solicitations, as well as connecting dots to the R&D ecosystem that is shared by federal institutions like the DoD, NIH, NSF, NASA and others.

Prior to joining the team, Justin served in multiple business development roles and industries that range from large aerospace manufacturing and medical R&D to startups and family agribusiness. Most recently he served as a Technology Commercialization Counselor with the NC A&T and UNC Charlotte where he took a leading role in the delivery of SBIR/STTR advisory services, guiding researchers and entrepreneurs as they navigate the complexities of R&D to bring pioneering innovations to fruition.

Mr. Dues earned his Bachelor’s of Science in Business Administration from University of Maryland, Global Campus and his MBA from UNC Charlotte. He also served as an enlisted Infantry Marine from 2003 to 2012 and relocated to the Charlotte region after separating from active duty.
